The JP Morgan Jessamine Stakes Preview and Free Betting Pick – Wednesday, October 7, 2020

The Grade II, $150,000 JPMorgan Jessamine Stakes will run as Race 7 on the Oct. 7 card at Keeneland.

The event for 2-year-old fillies will cover 1 1/16 miles on turf and include names like Spanish Loveaffair and Taylor’s Tourist among the field of 11.

Here is a look at some of the top runners set for the JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes.

Spanish Loveaffair, Taylor’s Tourist

One of the top entrants coming into the race is Spanish Loveaffair, owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Michael Hernon, and Gary Barber. The daughter of Karakontie is trained by Mark E. Casse.

She has a career record of 2-0-0 from two starts and earnings of $68,640.

Last time out, she scored the Aug. 29 Sharp Susan Stakes (Black Type) at Gulfstream Park. That performance followed a July 23 maiden special weight victory at the track.

Spanish Loveaffair will break from post 10 under jockey Tyler Gaffalione.

Another top name among the field is Mark Norman’s Taylor’s Tourist. The Midshipman filly is trained by Scott Geiner.

She is 1-1-0 from two career starts and has earnings of $93,400.

Her most-recent performance was a runner-up effort in the Sept. 15 Untapable Stakes (Black Type) at Kentucky Downs. Her victory came on debut in an Aug. 13 maiden special weight race at Evangeline.

Taylor’s Tourist will break from post 3 under Robby Albarado.

Arm Candy, Gambling Cat

Also among the field is Arm Candy, owned by Bradley Thoroughbreds, Tim Cambron, and Anna and Kurz Equine Investments. The Twirling Candy filly is trained by Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen.

She has just one career start, which was a victory, and earnings of $54,000.

That victory came in a Sept. 15 maiden special weight race at Kentucky Downs.

Arm Candy will break from post 6 under Ricardo Santana, Jr.

Repole Stable’s Gambling Cat will also be among the field. The daughter of Kitten’s Joy is trained by Michael Maker.

She has one career victory from one start and earnings of $34,650.

The filly took a Sept. 20 maiden special weight race at Belmont Park.

Gambling Cat will break from post 9 under Corey Lanerie.

The rest of the field (post, jockey) is set to include: Batyah (post 1, D. Cohen), Momentous Miss (post 2, J. Graham), Beautiful Star (post 4, A. Beschizza), Ingrassia (post 5, J.
