The Kansas City Chiefs were consensus favorites to win Super Bowl 55 since the moment bookies posted odds for the first time dating back to January 2020. The Chiefs are the defending champions, and only Tom Brady and the Bucs stand in their way to back-to-back championships.

SUPER BOWL 56 ODDS

  • Green Bay Packers +900
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1100
  • Baltimore Ravens +1200
  • Buffalo Bills +1200
  • New Orleans Saints +1500
  • San Francisco 49ers +1500
  • LA Rams +2000
  • Seattle Seahawks +2000
  • Cleveland Browns +2200
  • Miami Dolphins +2500
  • Dallas Cowboys +2500
  • Indianapolis Colts +2800
  • LA Chargers +2800
  • New England Patriots +2800

  • Arizona Cardinals +5000
  • Atlanta Falcons +5000
  • Chicago Bears +5000
  • Philadelphia Eagles +5000

Of course, that hasn’t stopped the public’s obsession with Mahomes and Kansas City, or prevented them from wagering on everything related to Kansas City. The Chiefs are the favorites once again to win the next Super Bowl, and have already attracted a steady flow of money.

Super Bowl 56: Bills and Packers Popular Picks

Aaron Rodgers had one of his best seasons with the Green Bay Packers in over a decade, but their magical run toward the Super Bowl fell short when they were knocked out of the title hunt by the Bucs in the NFC Championship.

The Packers are a popular team with futures bettors every season, and after two consecutive trips to the NFC title game, it’s no surprise to see them listed as the second-highest team on the futures board.

Rodgers is on the shortlist to win the MVP, but he admits that his success was directly attributed to his health. He didn’t miss a single practice this season, or spend any time on the IL. If Rodgers remains healthy, the Packer will remain a legit threat in the NFC.

The Buffalo Bills seem like the popular pick to win Super Bowl 56. Bettors jumped on the Bills’ bandwagon faster than Bills Mafia could jump through flaming tables. Josh Allen and the Bills got a taste of what it really takes to win a title after they were bounced from the AFC Championship by the Chiefs.

If KC wins back-to-back Super Bowls, it will be near impossible to fade another Super Bowl hangover. The Bills are the logical choice to make a run in the AFC next season.

Bubble Teams in 2020, Darlings in 2021?

There were a couple of decent bubble teams that didn’t make the playoffs last season, but could make a legit run for the Super Bowl next season. That group includes the Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers offer up the best value at +1500. They weren’t really a threat to win the NFC West behind the Seattle Seahawks and LA Rams. They also had to play home games in Arizona due to COVID-19 protocols. But, next season could be a huge bounce-back year for Kyle Shanahan.

The Niners lost defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to the New York Jets, but Shanahan and the team expected he’d leave for a head coaching job sooner than later. The Niners also have to figure out who will play quarterback. With the Lions looking to unload Matt Stafford, he’s been linked with the Niners in trade rumors.

The Miami Dolphins are among the top-two teams that Deshaun Watson is eying as a potential new home. But the Fins might not want to give up so much draft capital to snag the disgruntled Watson. For now, they have to answer a tough question: Tua, or not Tua?

If you want to back a hot, young quarterback, then the Arizona Cardinals fit the bill with Kyler Murray. The Cards were inconsistent last season, but they’re on the cusp of breaking through as a legit threat in the NFC West. Murray and the Cards are +5000 odds on the Super Bowl futures board.

Super Bowl 56 Betting Long Shots: Avoid the LOL Jets

The Jacksonville Jaguars secured the #1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. They’re expected to select Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson with the top pick. Even with Lawrence, the Jags still have lots of positions to address on both offense and defense. That’s why the Jags are the last team on the futures board at +10000 odds to win Super Bowl 56.

The Detroit Lions are rebooting once again with Stafford on the trading block. They hired a new head coach, Dan Campbell, who likes to eat kneecaps, but even the hungry Lions are still a few years away from being a legit contender.

SUPER BOWL 56 ODDS – LONG SHOTS
  • Carolina Panthers +6000
  • Denver Broncos +6000
  • Las Vegas Raiders +6000
  • NY Giants +6000
  • Detroit Lions +8000
  • Houston Texans +8000
  • NY Jets +9000
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +10000

David Purdum from ESPN reported that within the first two days of William Hill releasing NFL futures on Super Bowl 56, the Carolina Panthers were the only team that didn’t attract a single bet. With the future of Teddy Bridgewater in doubt, no one wants to take a flier on the Panthers.

If the New York Jets acquire Watson from the Houston Texans in a huge trade, the Jets will see their Super Bowl futures jump. However, lifelong fans of the LOL Jets will tell you to save your money. Even if the Jets get Watson, they’re still a long way off from winning a Super Bowl.
