After the weekend focus of the NFL, it is time to turn our attention to basketball for a jam packed night of NBA action.
An Eastern Conference showdown between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls will be a good one.
This could potentially serve us the return of Jayson Tatum, as he has been out for a long time due to health and safety protocols after testing positive for COVID.
The Celtics will be eager to bring him back into his role and hopefully he will be playing as well as he was before his positive test.
The Bulls most recently lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, so they will be looking to bounce back after that losing effort.
Let’s break down the matchup.
Boston Celtics Betting Preview: A Depleted Roster All Season
The Celtics started the year missing Kemba Walker, and now they have been missing Jayson Tatum for weeks.
Standout rookie Payton Pritchard had a knee injury during their two-game series against the 76ers, and he will now be out for two weeks.
Such a depleted roster is throwing the likes of Grant Williams, Semi Ojeleye and Robert Williams on the floor for Boston.
They are fine role players, but they cannot shoulder the load and welcoming back Jayson Tatum will feel good for this Celtics team.
Jaylen Brown has been the brightest spot of this season and taken the biggest leap. We saw him ignite the Sixers for 40+ points and score in a multitude of ways.
He will be the sole focus of the Bulls’ defense for this game.
Chicago Bulls Betting Preview: Shaping Up or Nominally Average?
Let me get this straight, there were no expectations for the Bulls to light the league on fire this season, but they certainly have been better than advertised.
Defense is still a struggle for them, but they can score with nearly any team.
Zach LaVine looks like an All-Star caliber player and continues to improve his game every season that he is in the league.
Some of their younger players like Coby White and Lauri Markkanen have come into themselves finally and now look comfortable night in and night out.
This is not a roster teams want to face, and they are scrappy and well coached all around.
The Celtics will look to put a lid on their guard play by putting Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown on Zach LaVine. They should make it difficult.
Celtics @ Bulls Betting Odds and Lines
Coming into this matchup, the Boston Celtics are favored on the road by 6.5 points.
While this Celtics team has now had a lot of ups and downs this season, they certainly are still one of the premier teams in the east with a healthy roster.
Free Betting Pick
Jaylen Brown is a special player and I expect him to show up big offensively and defensively shutting down Zach LaVine.
